Upcoming Speakers:

Sergeant Cletus Judge will be speaking at the Youth Village on Wednesday evening, May 5th. His talk will be in the Chapel and begin at 6pm. He is originally from Mobile, Alabama and attended the University of South Alabama obtaining a BS in Political Science class of 1987. He joined the Dallas Police Dept. shortly after graduation and worked in several different areas. He was a Academy instructor for over 10yrs and also had the opportunity to work as a Robbery Detective. He has been with the Dept. for over 23 yrs total and is currently assigned to the South Central Patrol station as a patrol supervisor. Sergeant Judge is a Board Member of the Open Doors Foundation that works closely with youth from undeserved communities. He is married and has two adult sons.

 

On Wednesday evening, May 12 Mr. Derrick "D.K." King will be speaking in the Chapel at the Youth Village. Mr. King will speak about growing up, getting into some trouble, and joining the Army. Having just retired from the Army he will talk some about his career and the opportunities for qualified young men. He will also speak about DK Fitness and what it means to stay in good shape.

 

On Thursday evening, May 13 Mr. Ted Gardner will speak in the multipurpose room at Medlock. Mr. Gardner has a compelling story and is currently employed as a Parole Officer. He will speak some about his own life and also about some of the men he has worked with over the years who have either turned their lives around or are either dead or back in prison.

 

DeWayne Pace will speak at Medlock in the multipurpose room on Thursday evening May 27th. Mr. Pace grew up in the local community and has had some real struggles. He graduated from El Centro’s culinary school and has had a very successful career in the Food business. He will speak about his life and careers in the food industry.
